Episode description: Officers Malloy (Martin Milner) and Reed (Kent McCord) risk their lives to face an armed suspect because a foolhardy colleague failed to think before acting in "A Dead Cop Can't Help Anyone -- Log 152," this week's episode of ADAM 12. Ed Wells (Gary Crosby), a braggart and overly aggressive officer, embarrasses Malloy and Reed when he overpowers an armed suspect they are about to subdue peacefully. But on the next call, Well's tactics brings gunfire from the suspect and Wells is critically wounded. Malloy and Reed then try to rescue Wells against the gunman's fire. The cast includes Bobby Hall as Chester, an armed suspect, Barry Williams as Johnny Grant, Jan Reeves as Wilma, Johnny's mother and Chester's girlfriend. Barbara Baldavin portrays Wells' wife.
